David Ben-Gurion: Much more than just an airport
Where heritage, the Negev and innovation meet up!
The Ben-Gurion
Desert Home experience
The home of the first Prime Minister of the State of Israel and his wife Paula in Kibbutz Sde Boker.
The Desert Home epitomizes the essence of David Ben-Gurion, the person, without filters. You are invited to become acquainted with the man and the leader at the site itself or in a live virtual tour.
The site includes exhibition areas that encompass the Desert Home and are aimed at enriching knowledge and the experience of the visit to the Home of Ben-Gurion.
The Ben-Gurion
Heritage Archives
Influenced by the presidential library model, the archives are jointly run by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the Ben-Gurion Heritage Institute. A new home houses hundreds of thousands of pages of Ben-Gurion’s handwritten diaries, correspondence, meeting protocols and more which shed light on the founding and history of the State.
A brand new exhibition hall brings the archival materials to life for the public and preserves the experience of discovery, as visitors are welcome to open drawers and closet doors to discover the hidden gems of David Ben-Gurion’s writings.
The People's Trial
In 1948 Ben-Gurion wrote, “We do not yet have a jury system…. I hope that one day it will be part of our legal constitution. Because here, as in England and the US, it should be the average person with common sense who should judge us”.
Now you are invited to be the jury in this imaginary court: learn about the affairs, hear the different sides and in the end YOU decide. So come and influence history!
